Overview

This two-day itinerary offers a perfect mix of wildlife and culture. Explore the wildlife haven of Ngorongoro Crater before delving into the unique traditions of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes at Lake Eyasi.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Discover Ngorongoro Crater
Start your day with an early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its incredible wildlife density. Spend the morning exploring the crater floor, home to the Big Five, along with wildebeests, zebras, and an abundance of birdlife. Break for a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking views of the crater walls. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to Lake Eyasi, where you’ll settle into your lodge or campsite for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Cultural Immersion at Lake Eyasi
Begin the day with a visit to the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in Africa. Learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting and foraging techniques. Later, meet the Datoga tribe, skilled blacksmiths who craft tools using traditional methods. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the serene shores of Lake Eyasi, where you can also spot flamingos and other bird species. In the afternoon, return to Arusha with lasting memories of both wildlife and cultural encounters.
